Nanoplastia vs Keratin vs Hair Botox Treatment — Which Smoothing Is Right for You?

Nanoplastia, keratin and Hair Botox Treatment are the three smoothing systems clients ask us about most. They look similar in the brochure — and very different in the chair. This guide breaks down what each one actually does, who it suits, how long it lasts and what it costs at our Bagalur salon, so you can walk in knowing which one is right for your hair.

01

Quick answer — which one should you book?

Classic keratin is the workhorse: best for frizz control on virgin or lightly coloured hair, lasts 3–5 months, from ₹4,500.

Nanoplastia is the gentle, long-wearing pick: formaldehyde-free, safe on bleached and highlighted hair, lasts 5–8 months, from ₹6,000.

Hair Botox Treatment is a deep conditioning treatment — not a smoothing chemical. It rebuilds damaged, brittle lengths, adds shine and softens frizz for 6–10 weeks, from ₹2,500.

02

What each treatment actually is

Classic keratin is a protein-and-sealant system. Hydrolysed keratin is brushed through the hair and heat-sealed with a flat iron at 200–230°C, smoothing the cuticle and locking in straighter, frizz-free behaviour.

Nanoplastia uses nano-sized amino acids instead of keratin proteins. It's formaldehyde-free (no fumes, no breathing concerns) and the smaller molecules penetrate deeper, so it lasts longer and is gentler on previously processed hair.

Hair Botox Treatment is a misnomer — there's no botulinum toxin. It's a leave-in mask of fillers, proteins, vitamins and acids that fills micro-gaps in the hair shaft, leaving lengths plumper, shinier and softer. It doesn't chemically straighten.

03

Side-by-side comparison

Frizz control: Keratin 9/10 · Nanoplastia 9/10 · Hair Botox Treatment 6/10.

Straightening: Keratin pulls hair noticeably straighter for the first month. Nanoplastia smooths without flattening curl pattern. Hair Botox Treatment barely straightens — it conditions.

Durability: Keratin 3–5 months · Nanoplastia 5–8 months · Hair Botox Treatment 6–10 weeks.

Safety on bleached / highlighted hair: Keratin — caution, patch test required. Nanoplastia — safest of the three. Hair Botox Treatment — completely safe.

Formaldehyde: Classic keratin formulas can release trace formaldehyde during ironing. Nanoplastia and Hair Botox Treatment are formaldehyde-free.

Pregnancy: Hair Botox Treatment is generally considered safe after the first trimester. Nanoplastia is the next safest option. Classic keratin is not recommended during pregnancy.

Starting price in Bangalore: Keratin from ₹4,500 · Nanoplastia from ₹6,000 · Hair Botox Treatment from ₹2,500.

04

Who each treatment suits

Choose keratin if you have virgin or minimally coloured hair, fight frizz daily, want a clear straightening effect and prefer the lowest entry price.

Choose Nanoplastia if your hair is bleached, balayaged or highlighted, you've reacted to formaldehyde-based smoothers before, you're pregnant past the first trimester, or you simply want the longest-lasting result.

Choose Hair Botox Treatment if your hair is damaged, brittle, over-processed or chemically tired and you want a conditioning reset rather than straight hair. Many clients pair Hair Botox Treatment every 8 weeks with a yearly Nanoplastia for the best of both worlds.

05

What it's like in the chair at our Bagalur salon

Every chemical service starts with a free consultation, a strand test on coloured hair, and a clarifying wash with a mineral-chelation step (Bagalur's borewell water leaves cuticle build-up that ruins smoothing results elsewhere).

Treatment is sectioned and applied by a senior stylist — no junior swaps. Keratin and Nanoplastia are heat-sealed section by section; Hair Botox Treatment is processed under a steam dome.

You leave with a sulphate-free starter kit included in the price and a written aftercare brief on WhatsApp.

06

Aftercare that protects your investment

Wait 72 hours before the first wash (48 for Hair Botox Treatment).

Use only sulphate-free, salt-free shampoo and a weekly protein-light mask.

Avoid tight ties, chlorinated pools and saltwater for the first two weeks.

Re-book a maintenance gloss at the halfway mark to extend results by 30–40%.

Frequently Asked

Questions on treatments, answered.

What's the real difference between Nanoplastia and keratin?
Keratin uses protein molecules and often releases trace formaldehyde during ironing; Nanoplastia uses smaller amino-acid molecules, is formaldehyde-free, and lasts 5–8 months versus 3–5 months for classic keratin. Nanoplastia is also the safer choice on bleached or highlighted hair.
Is Hair Botox Treatment better than keratin?
They do different jobs. Keratin straightens and controls frizz. Hair Botox Treatment conditions, fills and adds shine without straightening. If your hair is damaged, choose Hair Botox Treatment. If you want sleek, straighter hair, choose keratin or Nanoplastia.
Which lasts the longest?
Nanoplastia — 5 to 8 months with sulphate-free aftercare. Keratin lasts 3 to 5 months. Hair Botox Treatment lasts 6 to 10 weeks.
Are any of these safe during pregnancy?
Hair Botox Treatment is generally considered safe after the first trimester. Nanoplastia is the next safest option because it's formaldehyde-free. Classic keratin treatments are not recommended during pregnancy. Always check with your doctor first.
Will any of these damage coloured or bleached hair?
Nanoplastia is the safest of the three on coloured, highlighted or bleached hair — it actually restores shine lost during the colour process. Keratin requires a 48-hour patch test on bleached lengths. Hair Botox Treatment is safe on all colour states.
How much does each cost at JH Bagalur?
Hair Botox Treatment from ₹2,500. Classic keratin from ₹4,500. Brazilian Copacabana from ₹6,500. Nanoplastia from ₹6,000. All prices include the clarifying wash, mineral chelation step, sectioned sealing and a sulphate-free starter kit.
Can I do Hair Botox Treatment after a keratin treatment?
Yes — many of our clients pair them. Hair Botox Treatment at the 6–8 week mark after a keratin or Nanoplastia treatment refreshes shine, restores moisture and extends the smoothing effect by several weeks.
