Balayage (French for 'to sweep') is a freehand hair-painting technique where colour is hand-painted onto the surface of the hair to create soft, graduated highlights. Unlike foils, the regrowth is invisible, so you can stretch salon visits to 3–4 months. Best for medium-to-long hair and natural bases between dark blonde and dark brown.
