Nanoplastia is a smoothing treatment built around nano-sized amino acids. They are small enough to pass through the cuticle and rebuild inside the cortex, which is the difference between it and a classic keratin treatment — keratin coats the outside of the hair, nanoplastia works from within. The result is glass-smooth, high-shine hair that still moves, and it holds for 8+ months.
You will see it written several ways. "Nano plastia" as two words and "nanoplasty" are both the same treatment, and so is "nano keratin" in some salons. There is no meaningful difference between what those names describe; they are transliterations of the same Brazilian technique. The part that matters more than the name: it is formaldehyde-free. Older Brazilian blowouts relied on formaldehyde or a compound that releases it under a hot iron, which is what gave that category its reputation for streaming eyes and a burning throat. Nanoplastia does not use it, which is why it is the route we take on coloured, highlighted or bleached hair, on sensitive scalps, and during pregnancy.

The cuticle is sealed flat rather than merely coated, so humidity has far less to lift. This is the single most common reason clients from Bagalur, Yelahanka and Bhartiya City book it — hair that behaves in August, not just in the salon.

Every chemical service has a downside worth knowing before you book, and a page that only lists benefits is not being straight with you. Here is what to actually expect.
There is warmth and a mild scent while the iron seals the product in. It is not the eye-watering fume of a formaldehyde blowout — that is the whole point of the formaldehyde-free system — but the station is ventilated regardless. If you are asthmatic, tell us and we will seat you accordingly.
Uncommon, usually mild, and usually settles within a day. It is more likely if your scalp was already irritated, freshly shaved at the nape, or you coloured in the previous 48 hours. Come in with an unscratched, un-inflamed scalp.
Flatter and slicker than you are used to. That is the cuticle lying down; it settles. Do not judge the result on day one.
No washing, tying, clipping or tucking behind the ear for 72 hours. Getting this wrong is the most common reason a result underperforms — a hair tie in the first three days can leave a visible kink that stays.
Expect 8+ months, tapering rather than ending abruptly. Bangalore's borewell water shortens it; sulphate shampoo shortens it faster.
Heat plus a sealing pass can warm a fresh tone marginally, most noticeably on ash and cool blondes. If you are colouring and smoothing in the same period, we will usually smooth first and tone after.
This is the question we are asked most. Because the system is formaldehyde-free, nanoplastia is the smoothing route we use for pregnant clients, where classic keratin is not. That said: tell your stylist you are pregnant at the consultation so we can plan the station and the timing, and check with your doctor first. If your doctor says wait, wait — and we would rather you did than we talked you into it.
On safety specifically, the comparison people care about is against a traditional Brazilian blowout. Those relied on formaldehyde or a releaser, which is a recognised irritant and the reason that category is restricted in several countries. Nanoplastia's amino-acid system does not use it, which removes that specific risk.
