A de-tan uses exfoliating and brightening actives to lift accumulated tan and even out tone. It works on the skin itself, and the result builds with repeat sessions.

A bleach lightens the fine visible hair on the surface. The instant brightening effect is real but it is largely coming from the hair, not the skin — which is why a bleach alone will not fix an uneven tan line.

If your complaint is patchy and darker than it used to be, you want a de-tan. If it is dull and slightly fuzzy in photos, bleach does more.

Both services are patch-tested first if your skin is sensitive or reactive, and we will tell you honestly if we think you should skip a bleach. Actives on already-irritated skin make things worse, not brighter. If you have had a reaction to a bleach anywhere before, say so when booking — it changes what we use.

A face de-tan every 3 to 4 weeks keeps tone even through summer; less often once the sun eases off. Full body is usually event-driven rather than routine.

One session lifts what has accumulated recently. Tan that has built up over months takes more than one, and anyone promising otherwise is overselling — we will tell you at the start roughly how many it will take.
